US natural gas supplies modified by another 93 Bcf to a total of 3,683 Bcf based on estimates from EIA. Forecasters canvassed by Platts anticipated a net augment of 86 billion to 90 billion cubic feet.
The increase was better than the augment of 23 billion cubic feet in the similar week in 2009 and a five-year mean of 54 billion cubic feet. At 3,683 Bcf, total working CNG is within the 5-year historical ambit but hardly and we are likely another 4 weeks before the winter heating season will get initiated.
In the middle of a rising supply surplus and low prices, Encana – North America’s second-largest natural gas producer – has been extensively picked apart by capitalists this year for defining a goal to double its gas output by 2014. Today, Encana described it would back down from its development plans, cut expenditure and pair for low prices for a comprehensive period of time.
It is been years now since the natural gas industry has been going through a shift that has modified natural gas reserves by over 40%, and improved reserves in Canada by almost 100%. The chance to use more natural gas within the shipping network and in power generation is real. Regrettably, adoption is slow.

Two community stations where fomites fueled by compressed natural gas can fill will be accessible next summer in Omaha, which patrons expect will build thrust for the clean-burning fuel.
The Metropolitan Utilities District is teaming up with Happy Cab to unfold what will be two of only three public fill stations in Nebraska or Iowa. Kelly Gilbert, regional coordinator in Kansas City, Mo., of the Clean Cities coalition said, “We’re still on the leading edge of all alternative fuels.”
Tom Wurtz, president of MUD, said “interest in natural gas vehicles tends to rise and fall with the price of gasoline. A dedicated fleet of vehicles like Happy Cab’s in Omaha could provide more stability to the latest effort. “We’re hoping the stars are aligning right now.”
The main factor is the cost either to buy a CNG vehicle or even to convert the normally operated car to CNG. The only mass-produced commuter fomite presently built to run purely on compressed natural gas is the Honda Civic GX. The price of this vehicle is about $6,000 to $10,000 more than a gasoline-powered prototype. It costs around $10,000 to change a car to natural gas and $58,000 to change a big diesel truck.

Maruti Suzuki has declared the creation of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) editions for five of its most accepted models. Running from its SX4 car to its cheap MPV Eeco, out-and-out up to its solid rear door three of the Alto, WagonR and the Estilo, an extensive selection of the Maruti Suzuki collection will now be obtainable with a CNG selection. The editions on the other hand will be accessible only in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Gujarat for the present.
What makes the fomites severely competitive is the two-fold-fuel ‘CNG + petrol’ nature of the cars. This will surely add extremely to their adaptability.
Integrating the novel i-GPI (intelligent Gas Port Injection) technology, the company has arrogated that the CNG variants will cut down running costs by 60%.
The company equipped system should also add a big amount of dependability and security. Additionally, Maruti boffins have arrogated that the double ECU system integrated in the engine will assure that the operation of these fomites will be at par with their perfect petrol siblings, without a compromise on engine life. CNG transitions or else have been recognized to create a fall of about 15% in the car’s performance.

Previously the rickshaw unions in Pune City complained that CNG was in short supply. Nevertheless, as of now even though supply has improved, they want PMC to subsidize the CNG kits. The changeover of the city’s auto rickshaws to CNG-powered engines appears to be a scarcely seized truth.
Based on news report from the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), the city is receiving standard CNG supply, but even then merely 6,000-odd rickshaws out of 45,000 rickshaws that run on the city streets daily have been changed over into CNG so far.
Baba Shinde who is a member of RTA said, “Earlier, there was the problem of CNG supply, but now that problem has been solved. Now, CNG is being supplied at seven centers regularly. The auto rickshaw drivers now should convert their rickshaws to CNG, as it is more profitable for them than running rickshaws on petrol. CNG is much cheaper than petrol, and one kg of CNG gives mileage of nearly 45 km, while one liter of petrol gives only 22 km. This will also benefit common people, as the fares can be reduced once all rickshaws have been converted to CNG.”
