Production of Civic GX natural gas vehicles Started by American Honda

Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC started production of the natural gas-powered Civic GX, at its plant in Greensburg, Indiana. The Civic GX has been awarded with top environmental awards and the awards include the American Council for Energy-Efficient Economy’s “America’s Greenest Car” award for 5 successive years. Honda is known for its extended history of environmental leadership.
America’s first hybrid the Honda Insight was also built by Honda. The only natural gas vehicle, the Civic GX is produced by a main automaker in the U.S. The Civic GX has the lightest inner ignition vehicle and it is certified by the EPA as 90% cleaner than other gasoline driven cars.

The Civic GX was previously created at Honda’s East Liberty, Ohio plant. The car has a mean series of above 220 miles, and has exceptional fuel economy at 24 MPG within the city limits and 36 MPG on the highways.

Hyundai Santro Xing XK – CNG car

Hyundai is one of the most popular car brands. Why? Because their vehicles are small and safe a lot of fuel. Ideal for a city auto. Well to have a better environment, car brands are looking for alternative fuel options, like compressed natural gas. Also Hyundai is working on a car that will use CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).

The model they use for this project is the Hyundai Santro Xing. They call it the Hyundai Santro Xing XK. The Hyundai Santro Xing is one of the most popular cars in its segment.

Hopefully they will release more info about this car soon, so we know about this car.

Toyota: Roll Out CNG-Powered Camry

Toyota started their CNG (compressed natural gas) program in the late 90′s. In 1999 Toyota sold a four-cylinder Camry running on CNG, to some costumers in California. But this in a statement, it noted that “costumers were not attracted to a vehicle that required special refueling technologies and a limited refueling infrastructure.” They program was stopped in the year 2000. But with these pump prices, Toyota senses that consumers may be more open to CNG-powered cars today, then they did before.

With the Camry concept they want to confirm their interest in building CNG-powered vehicles, like the Camry.
Toyota spokesman Irv Miller said:”Natural gas and an expanded retail-friendly CNG infrastructure could be seen as a model for future hydrogen infrastructure.”

Well, we are glad to see more and more car brands start building CNG-powered cars.
