Maruti Suzuki has declared the creation of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) editions for five of its most accepted models. Running from its SX4 car to its cheap MPV Eeco, out-and-out up to its solid rear door three of the Alto, WagonR and the Estilo, an extensive selection of the Maruti Suzuki collection will now be obtainable with a CNG selection. The editions on the other hand will be accessible only in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Gujarat for the present.

What makes the fomites severely competitive is the two-fold-fuel ‘CNG + petrol’ nature of the cars. This will surely add extremely to their adaptability.
Integrating the novel i-GPI (intelligent Gas Port Injection) technology, the company has arrogated that the CNG variants will cut down running costs by 60%.

The company equipped system should also add a big amount of dependability and security. Additionally, Maruti boffins have arrogated that the double ECU system integrated in the engine will assure that the operation of these fomites will be at par with their perfect petrol siblings, without a compromise on engine life. CNG transitions or else have been recognized to create a fall of about 15% in the car’s performance.

Maruti Alto, which is otherwise known as the bread and butter car for Maruti is going to be the I model to be wheeled with a CNG kit accompanied by other cars in the Maruti Stable.

The company is expecting for a more bettered dispersion network of CNG throughout the country, ab initio in the main cities. The company had also before this offered CNG models and has again now planned to reintroduce the CNG versions again in every segment.

BS-IV discharge standard will be enforced in 11 cities in the country from the following year, and Maruti is pitching itself to bring out CNG versions of its vehicles.

Cars on the CNG platform is being tried out before launching them commercially by the car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited. It is likely that the CNG platform car will be sold commercially in the next 2-3 years. At present only 11 cities in India had CNG facilitated cars. This was the reason for Maruti for not going in for such switch over previously.

Actually compressed natural gas (CNG) is a more environs-friendly choice to other fossil fuels like petrol or diesel. At present, no car runs on CNG version in the Indian market, even though Maruti 800 and Wagon R are obtainable on the LPG platform.

Even though external CNG kits can be fitted in new cars but with the launch of the Maruti CNG models the price would be much cheaper because of the economies of scale.
