Mercedes-Benz starts with CNG, thats a fact! Like a lot of companies, Mercedes-Benz has their own name for it. NGT, this stands for Natural Gas Technology. Below a small video about their product.
With this new technology, Mercedes-Benz is also trying to be one of brands that is using this technology for a better environment. Maybe it’s a bit soon, but within a couple of years, you can tank at almost every gas-station CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). Like every other car brand, Mercedes-Benz is also having their opinion why you should drive on CNG or NGT. But one thing is for sure. It’s much cleaner then regular fuel and more quiet then regular fuels.
Off course we all want to know which models of Mercedes-Benz are able to use this technology.
Here the models of Mercedes-Benz that already use this technology:
- E 200 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY

- B 170 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY

For more info about this technology, u can visit the website of Mercedes-Benz or a website about Alternative Car Fuels.
Natural Gas vehicles have recently hit the newsstands, as a great way of fighting the specter of global warming. The principle behind natural gas vehicles is simple, burning methane, CH4, rather than complex hydrocarbons, for powering the car. Without being too technical, methane is the most efficient hydrocarbon fuel, and produces the least carbon dioxide. If even half of the cars in North America converted, the reduction in CO2 emissions would be immense, along with the levels of smog causing gases. Cheap, easily refillable and safe, methane is the fuel of the future, and there is little excuse for not considering this option. Natural gas systems are easy to install, and you can rest, safe in the knowledge that you have done far more to reduce global warming than celebrities buying inefficient hybrid cars.
Hopefully they will launch the one model in the US. Honda really needs a competitor.
